Boeing’s Chinook CH-47 is a multi-mission, heavy-lift military transport helicopter. First introduced in 1962, they comprise five different variants (A, B, C, D, and F). The craft’s primary mission is to transport soldiers, artillery, ammo, and supplies to the battlefield. Other uses include medical, civilian / refugee evacuation, parachute cargo drops, search and rescue, and disaster relief. Since this rotor-airframe’s introduction, 1,179 have been built.
