Gardena, CA (July 23, 2014) Impresa Aerospace, a leading supplier to the commercial and military aerospace industries, has successfully completed ISO 9001:2008 AS9100 Rev C recertification for its Gardena, CA facility.

This standard is designed to be used by firms in the aviation, space, and defense industries and can be applied throughout the supply chain. It is intended for use by organizations that design, develop, and produce aviation, space, and defense products. The scope of Impresa’s registration includes sheet metal and machined parts and assemblies for the aerospace industry, and the company will operate under the current certification until April of 2017.

ISO 9001:2008 (and AS9100C:2009) defines a set of quality management requirements, the purpose of which is to help organizations establish and maintain a quality management system (QMS) that complies with these requirements. “We are consistently working with our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software provider to meet or exceed current world-wide quality standards,” states Dennis Fitzgerald, Vice President of Operations. “Every day our engineering and production teams strive to contain costs, improve time management, employee motivation and information flow, and guarantee accountability and traceability,” concluded Fitzgerald.

Impresa is a leading supplier to the aerospace industry, boasting major contracts with Boeing, Spirit Aerosystems, Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin and Gulfstream. Notable commercial programs include the Boeing 787, 777, 747, 737; Airbus A330 and A340; and Gulfstream G650. Regarding defense-related programs, Boeing’s Apache Helicopter, C-17 and F-18; Sikorsky’s Black Hawk helicopter and the Lockheed Martin C130 are among the company’s most illustrious contracts.

The company operates two facilities — a 100,000 square foot Gardena, CA plant, along with the 40,000 square foot Wichita, KS plant — where it provides a comprehensive array of engineering, manufacturing and assembly services. The company is noted for supplying OEMs with high-quality, low-cost precision CNC-machined and sheet metal parts and assemblies. Together, the Impresa facilities employ approximately 350 machinists, engineers and support staff and will account for more than $60 million in annual sales.

Impresa, along with the company’s financial partner, Graycliff Partners, is poised for future growth and anticipates future acquisitions. Graycliff Partners is an independent investment firm with offices in New York and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
